OUR STORY

Our
Story

On February 23, 1966, several interested students from various congregations of the Church of Christ met in Room K-116 at McNeese State College to discuss organizing a religious club on campus. This had been the dream of many prior to this time, but it was Joe Guest, a professor of mathematics and a member of the Boulevard congregation, who approached the McNeese Administration regarding the use of a room on campus for this purpose, and permission was granted.

With the increased interest in this mission effort, the congregation of Enteriprise Boulevard Church of Christ purchased our building at 107 Arlington Dr, just across from the University, to serve as a "home away from home" for the students. Every week, students are treated to a home-cooked meal, followed by a devotional of fellowship. Our program seeks to develop the students' Christian faith, character, and standard of living, that they may be fully prepared to meet life.

Our first Charter officers elected were as follows: President- Paul Myers, Lake Charles; Vice President- Jerry Franks, Dequincy; Secretary- Peggy Alcede, Lake Charles; Publicity Officer- Judy Miller, Lake Charles.
Faculty Sponsor- Joe W. Guest, Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
